Has anyone ever changed their seat's covers?

I've been trying to get help in the Sound and Shine forum but haven't been able to get much. I've thought about changing the covering on my '02GT's seats from cloth to leather. I have the covers already picked out, they will have to be shipped to me, but I have questions about how to get them on the seats. Is changing them something I should attempt myself or something only a professional should do? If it is a do-it-yourselfer, does anyone know where to find instructions on how to change them? If I should have a professional do it is there anything I should look for in picking a place to do it to make sure it gets done right?

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

U wiykd think that it would be something you'd have to take to a professional installer. I dunno if the foam padding undermeath is the same for both seats (although I would think it would be). How much are you getting the seat covers for? Depending on price, you might just want to look into Classic Soft Trim interior covers of the FR500 seats. Supposed to be better quality, plus they look bad *ss.

where can you get those!!!

www.classicsofttrim.com

Their Website SUCKS, call them on the telephone and tell them you want FR 500's for a Mustang. They will give you the address and telephone # to a dealer near you and if there isn't a dealer close they will give you a discount and you can do them yourself! They run about $1200.00 and up, mine were $1575.00 installed.

Actually I already liked the FR500's, I would also love to get FR500 wheels for my car, but I am not wanting to spend that much $$$ so I am going for a plainer set. But, I didn't ask for opinion on what type of seat covers to get, what I really want to know and know seems willing or able to answer is HOW IS THE BEST WAY TO INSTALL THEM??? Should I try to install them my self or pay a professional to do it?

01BlkGT: What does "wiykd" mean? You were the only one who voiced an installation method opinion, which I thank you for. According to the places I called it would cost between $225 and $285 to have installed.

Thank you. That is the way I am leaning towards. I want it done right and I don't trust myself to do it. But how do you know who's good? Anyway, I guess it wouldn't hurt to get people's opinion on the set I am looking at. What do you think? I think they would go well with my car's current silver/black/charcoal theme.

Those look good, are they Classic Soft Trim?

seat cover installation

I replaced my factory cloth with factory leather myself. It's a pain in the a$$. I had a pro do the top portion of the back seat because the new pieces didn't have the trunk carpet on them so I had to get it sewn in. If I were to do it again, I would pay someone. The factory covers are on there good and all those little hog rings are hard to spread apart. I think for the two front seats and the bottom of the backseat it took about 6 hours. PM me if you have any specific questions.
