Has anyone made a checklist for PI headswap?

Here is what I have so far and feel free to add to it, I would like a list of EVERYTHING that is needed to do it in 'one stop.'

01+ heads (reuse valve covers)
01+ PI intake
01+ Cams
01+ Headgaskets
01+ Valve Cover gaskets (aka: Cam cover gaskets)
01+ Intake gasket
Header Gasket
Headbolts
Alternator bracket
Coolant tube and nipple (Does it matter what year?)
Timing Cover gaskets (aka: front cover gaskets)
Crank seal
Crank and cam sprocket bolts
Plenum O-rings
Thermostat O-rings
Water Pump O-rings
Header down-pipe gasket
Stock or 180* Thermostat

18mm Balancer bolt and 18mm Cam Retainer bolt.

F8AZ-10153-EA - Alt. Bracket for Pre-99 with aluminum crossover PI intake.

What else is needed? Does the above list look correct? Feel free to add up!

As far as 'special tools' I see that you need a 10mm 12pt open-end wrench for the powersteering bolt, a 13mm deep well socket for a valve cover bolt.

Does the waterpump need a nipple?

What size cam bolts do you need for the 01+ cams that go on the 96-98 engine?

Only thing I think I can tell you worth any help is that you'll need to buy 2 cam bolts for 01+ cams as the 96-98 bolt is too big.

four six - Are you talking about the heater tube?

dustbuster - Is a 10mm bolt the size you want, and not the 12mm bolts?

F8AZ-10153-EA

Is that the correct part number for a 98 alternator, but using the 01+ alt. bracket?

You'll have to check with Randy S. for that to be sure...I believe 10mm is correct but I'd check with him to be safe. You could also check at your local ford dealership, ask them the size on a cam sprocket/gear bolt for a 2002 GT.

What are your future plans for the car? Will it be "done" after the PI swap or is there something else in store for it?

It will 'done' after the PI headswap. It is my daily driver...it will stay N/A.

DropTop - Is it really that hard to put in the oil dipstick tube?
