Hatch problems....

Hey guys....i'm having problems with my hatch opening up on my 88gt....i can hear the click and everything....but sometimes i have to get up out of my car and lift the hatch up a lil bit and then go back in the stang and press the hatch release.....i have new hatch struts too....i'm thinking it has something to do the hatch bumpers/stoppers.....anybody experience this?

Mine does it too. Lots of posts on this one....most of the time it's the striker, which supposedly costs about 3-6 dollars. I've just been too lazy to fix mine.

strikers?......so it doesn't have anything to do the stoppers/bumpers? .....i'm trying to look on ebay, but no available yet....

I think the strike, or the part the latch grabs is adjustable, up and down. You may have to remove the rear trim panel to get to it. Some experimenting should show you where it works best.
