I recently bought a 1992 Mustang GT hatch and it is in really good condition. It has a few little quirks that should be expected with a car of that age. One small problem I am having is that whenever I hit a large bump in the road or hit the gas really hard, the dome light flickers. I suspect that this is from the hatchback latch/striker vibrating and causing it to open slightly. I was just wondering if anyone else knew what could be causing this. Thanks.

Does your hatch latch still have the nylon bushing that sits around the striker?....If not that's probably what's making it loose. You can get a striker bushing kit (4 bushings) for about $3 bucks at the local parts store...(i just did this so I know for sure)...the striker requires a torx wrench to remove but it's a two minute fix....it should tighten everything right up.

thanks for your help guys. I will try that this week. The flickering light thing was kinda cool for a while. It freaked my friends out though... we'd be driving along and all of a sudden I would go around a corner and hit the gas.... the tires would start spinning and the light would go crazy. hehe... it always made me laugh.
