My 89 LX has strangely started unlocking the hatch on its own while driving. Its intermittent and it might be rain/moisture related. As first I thought I wasn't closing it well but today I could easily hear the switch in the back unlocking multiple times like I was pushing the courtesy button in the glove box.

Anybody had this happen? Fixes? Comments?

When I was closing mine, it really wasn't closing good, it turned out to be the rubber bushing around the "striker" I guess you would call it. But I don't remember hearing the switch clicking it open.

I initially thought the same thing as I had a new bushing on it a couple months back and it worked loose after install. But twice now for sure it has unlocked while driving and I hear the latch getting triggered.

Check the wire connections in the glove box and by the hatch. Possibly something is lose/shorting out.

Based on your description it sounds electrical. I'd check and see if the hatch switch has its own fuse, if so, pull it and see if it stops. Then you'll know if it is mechanical or electrical for sure.
