I never noticed until last night after I was just cruising around breaking in my 3.73's, but every time I tromp on it, I hear what sounds like a metallic type noise not a pinging or knocking or anything engine related, but coming from the my mac o/r pipe.. it sounds perhaps like it's nearly right below the dash, where the exhaust manifolds bolt up to it.. when I first did the swap I heard the same noise, but it didn't appear to be a leak. I'm curious, do you guys who have this pipe all hear this noise under acceleration, or do you hear just straight exhaust and no other sound?

No, the metallic noise is part of the exhaust.. not a rattling underneath.

put mine on 2 weeks ago and i got a small leak in it but no weird noises. it could just be a tiny amount of raspy sound. What kind of mufflers do you have sgarlic??

With my magnapacks, my mac o/r H makes the loudest crackling/popping/gunshot noise i have ever heard at 2700-3500 rpms. It sounds kinda like rasp, but its not murky popping, its more like loud percise maching gun blasts. lol. scares the sh it outta people

:Word: a friend of mine has that on his GT to he got an O/R H mid pipe with magna packs and it sounds like a little rasp but more like a machine gun type sound i think it sounds cool, it also scares the s**t out of me when he gets on it and is next to me

I'm trying to think of what you are talking about... I had the mac o/r h on my 95 Cobra and at low RPMs under acceleration, there was a real metalic flow sound too it...i thought it was pretty cool.. Is that what u are talking about?? if so then dont worry abt it

It's hard to describe I guess.. sounds like if you say the sound the letter S makes like 4 times a second .. that's really the best way to describe it.

I'm pretty sure it's normal but I haven't been under the car to tighten the nuts in a long time, so it made me wonder if perhaps I have a leak.

sounds like a leak off the manifold, i had the same thing when i used to have a Mac H pipe. Either the nut came loose or maybe your gasket is toast (that happened to mine)
