everytime someone comes on here and asks about a 99/01 Cobra some Mach I owner runs in saying how great the Mach is?
I don't know why, but after a while it has just gotten to me and pizzed me off. It's kind of like Texas talking trash to OU. It has just gotten on my nerves a little.
Anyone else notice this? I'd like to like the Mach I because it is a Mustang, but some of their owners sure make it hard.
I just got my 01 Cobra, I've had it for a little over three weeks, let me enjoy it in peace and stay in the Mach I forum's.

Cobra :spot:

It's a two-way street, seen the opposite happen before as well.

**Disclaimer** - the following may offend some people (nobody specific on SN).

If certain people kept their egos in check, it would make life much easier. The same goes for the "real world" as well.

Now, as far as our fellow Mach I breathren, they are always welcome in our SVT section, even if they have their own playground on SN. Reason? Hell, they have a 4V engine...we can all benefit from shared tech advice/help/info/etc.

Remember, there's always going to be a debate about "which is the better car, cobra or Mach?" Debate is fine, but if things start turning ugly you can always "report a post" to SN staff and we will deal with it accordingly.

:D

I agree with COBRA90GT.... We're all 'Stang lovers here. People can talk a big game about there 'Stang over others but in the end we all love our Ponies and share the same passion... POWER. If you've got a Pony and you like going fast, looking good, and smoking the ricer's then you're ok in my book.

Agreed :)

Frustration was overwhelming me when I wrote this post, but it's a message forum, take it with a grain of salt.
And thanks guys, I love my Cobra

And I still love my Mach I brothers too :)

It's a proven fact in psychology that people will go to great, even absurd lengths to justify their own actions (including car purchases).

100% Correct.

I talk regularly about this one also. It is so funny how simply owning a car can make you into a great person. The damndest thing is, it's only in your head.

If you think owning or not owning a certain car makes you better or worse, I feel for you.

Now there are some traits you can tell about people by the appearance of their ride or how they drive. One of the biggest being......the "I need attention because my daddy wasn't around" style of some cars out there.

This is pure backyard phsychology, but I do love it.

If owning a car makes someone feel better about themselves that's good I think.
I'd say none of us on here are A to B kind of people, if we were we wouldn't need these cars and a message forum about em.

It is knowing the difference between a car making you feel good or believing you are better than someone else because of a car where some people falter.

Cars are geat, love them however, I would not be any different without my Cobra nor do I need it or this website. Nor do I believe owning it makes me any better than anyone else. I was just willing to pay the payment, that is all.

So when someone starts ticking you off that a Mach is better than an old Cobra, laugh. He obviously has nothing of real content in his life to be proud of so he must attach himself to a 3500 pound chunk of various materials to make himself feel special.

Good point on the last paragraph Sawman :D
I know what you mean, and that is true about the payments :)
To my Cobra and Mustang brother

Yesterday i was walking out of 7-11 and a guy pulled in in a competition orange mach1. as he walked past i said "hey man nice car", and this guy pretty much just sneered at me and blew me off. What is going on with the mach owners. Is there something in the owners manual of the machs that says that you have to hate on cobra owners, i dont get it. Arent we all in this together?

Don't get me wrong, Mach's are great rides. I was very close to buying one before I decided on the snake (thank the Lord :D ) but i have run into snobby Mach owners also. There are those kind no matter what car you drive, just gotta deal with them. :nonono: Hell, I've met douche bag 03'-04' cobra owners too. They did have reason to be, they ARE driving the baddest cobra ever made. LOL (but not for long, damn GT 500 :( )

I hear that, I've ran across quiet a few Mach drivers who think they are king *****.
I used to think we were all on the same team, but I guess not

I just don't see the logic.

I have said it before, a super clean non molested V-6 looks good to me. I look at each Mustang I see and notice what I like or don't like.

I am not going to get all wuss and ask everyone to love each other. But hey, if someone doesn't play nice, f*** um and don't play with them anymore.

If these Mach guys are so angry, could it be they have penis err... mustang envy. Ours is bigger than theirs. They should just relax and enjoy their rides. They made their choice and should respect us for ours.

Enough with this crap, let's talk cars.

I'm not really sure. I sometimes think that some of them choose to alienate themselves from the early DOHC crowd because either they're not in the 'SVT' family or they just feel that their cars are superior in all ways and we are just wrong not accepting it. Then perhaps they feel like underdogs in the presence of the 03/04 Cobra crowd.
The Machs are somewhat different than the Bullitts. The Bullitts are the creme de la creme of the 99-04 GTs. The Machs, however are not GTs and they are not Cobras. They are most certainly special but perhaps many of their owners just do not know exactly how they fit in except among themselves.
Like it was said, all of us all-aluminum naturally aspirated DOHC guys have more similiarities than differences in the engines.
The Machs have better heads and in most cases the 96-01 Cobras have better blocks. The Machs are tuned for stronger bottom end and the Cobras for a bit more top end. The Cobra engines are handbuilt on the niche line but the Mach has the distinction to be the last and overall best example of the aluminum DOHC V8 in the 96-04 Mustangs. There are pros and cons to both, even with the 03/04 Cobras so while we all have a love for our cars, there's no reason not to have admiration and appreciation for all of these late great Mustangs that Ford has built.

Very well put.

This is funny cause I just posted a somewhat similar thread on svtperformance.com in the roadkill forum like 10 minutes ago. I guess we are just all proud of our cars. Let's stick together and give ideas how to defeat the LS1 guys.
