2. I have a 67 cougar 9in rear end is it a straight swap from my 8in?

3. on my passenger side door the window can pushed or pulled up and down without rolling it down with the handle whats my problem?

any help is very helpful :nice:

You won't need new tie rod ends unless you do something like a Granada disc brake swap.
You might as well, because you REALLY need to change the spindles/brakes/springs/suspension. It's not necessary to do that stuff when swapping in a V8, but trust me, the car is scary and doesn't work well with all the 6 cylinder stuff still under it. IT WILL BE MISERABLE TO DRIVE.

My 68 was a 200 3sp, and I put a 351w/T5 in it without changing the rest of that stuff, and it didn't stop well (small 6cyl drum brakes), it didn't handle good at all (excessive nose dive because of the weak springs, fenders would rub the tires during braking), and it was just plain not fun to drive. I've since swapped to Granada disc brakes/spindles, V8 springs, complete steering and suspension rebuild, and swapped in an 8 inch. It is 100 times better.

Here is a good start for your swap. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=705634
Its a sticky in this forum so its always at the top.

You can P.M. me if you have any other questions, and want to know from someone who has done the swap. Several others here have too.

Ok so I have the front spindles and brakes and the 9in. rear end. have done the new front shocks and V8 springs so I only have the exhaust, new fuel lines and the t-5 swap alright thanks for the reply is there anything else I forgot? I should have the rear end and front brakes done this weekend will post pics.

Sounds like you're on the right track. What spindles do you have? Are they Mustang/Cougar spindles or Granadas? If they are Granada spindles you will need Granada outer tie rod ends. I don't believe you need to change them if they are Mustang or Cougar spindles.
