have to pass smog in AZ...help

I just checked on summitracing for these:
Magnaflow catted x = $499
BBK - $390

I've heard Magnaflow uses really good cats. Is it worth the extra $100? I want something that is good quality and sounds good. Dont ever want to have to mess with this crap again lol.

thanks for everyones help

I'm pretty sure that Magnaflow might be a S/S version while the BBK is aluminized. that'd be the price difference. most high flow cats are built the same as far as the design goes.

Good news... I went and got the smog pump, 2 valves and hoses, and the hard line that goes to the h-pipe from a local guy(craigslist :nice: ) so now I just need to order my catted H.

Does anyone know the size of the bolts for the smog pump?

Any local Phoenix guys want to make some extra money by helping me put it all on? lol. Or atleast suggest any good shops that won't charge me a fortune?

this is nt my argument but dude ? come on I grew up next to steel mills in indiana they dump everything they can at night on cloudy days. IN industry they dump boat loads of crap in the air. THe space shuttle has to deplete at least a percent of the ozone by itself. U want me to believe that a factory smog stuff on my ride , while al gore flyes solo in a huge personal jet and nascar guys racing three races a week flying helecopters and personal jets on a regular basis is o.k. please
A guy needs something in life .. at least let me have a small block on fri. and sat.
Smart car just aint me.. thats all I gotta say about that.. craig

you're absolutely right. "tampering" with or removal of automobile emissions equipment is illegal according to state and federal laws here in Massachusetts. every vehicle is required to meet the standards in the federal clean air act

Maybe you could read the Federal Clean Air Act Title II - Emission Standards for Moving Sources under Part A, Section 203 "Prohibited Acts" to understand the laws better.

"Nothing in paragraph (3) shall be construed to require the use
of manufacturer parts in maintaining or repairing any motor
vehicle or motor vehicle engine
."
