With the crap going down with my car this story really got to me:

So, I was at work today and this member comes in. I know him cause I went to school with his son and I've talked to him a few times. Well he just bought an 05 Subaru Legacy Outback station wagon. We go out and look at his car and it's nice and all. He's talkin it up "I've got 260 Horsepower" and all that ****. Saying that it's the fastest production car under $85,000. Well he also happens to be a Chevy guy....so things get better. He asks me "why didn't you buy a camaro or firebird, instead of the Mustang?". Then the next thing that comes out his mouth "So you want to race down at Pacific Raceways, I'll kick your ass easily"..... I told him the engine on the stang is blown and we will have to wait until next year...he says okay. I told him I am going to have a modified engine though, so I will be quite faster then him.....he goes "no, I will still pull on you" (this whole time he has a straight face, no laughing or kidding). So, we throw dinner on the line, loser has to buy dinner. I am now...EXTREMELY excited to get my engine in and get out there. Sorry, just had to vent a little on that....he was pissin me off!! It's on now though...

Hehe.... next time you talk to this mindless *******, remind him that the stock Cobra has over 350hp AT THE WHEELS, runs low 13's (maybe high 12 with a good shoe) and will blow his doors CLEAN OFF at any speed. Oh and its less than 30K at most any Ford dealer.

The saleen s281 supercharged for about 50K should hand him his ass with no problems...

Lets not forget the z06 vettes for like 50K that will blow his doors off, stop for lunch, and blow his doors off again while he is still trying to get through one pass.....

Then theres the c5 vette which is about 35-40 grand and will smoke his ass.

Then there is the Subaru WRX STI for 30-35K (his wagon only lighter)

Then there is the Lancer Evo for like 30-35K

Then there is the VW Golf GTI VR6 R32 (240hp all whl drive 6spd V6 rabbit)

Then there is ..... etc, etc, etc, .... "fastest under 85 grand" bull - shieiet

And then come the aftermarket parts..... c-ya.

Hate to be the bearer of a reality check for him, but....

Typical of these people quoting HP numbers, they dont understand that HP is just a fraction of the whole deal, then they wounder why a 2800lbs 240HP honda S-2000 cant beat a 3500lbs 260HP mustang GT!!! The answer is 160tq vs 300tq.

I think a wise, ....but very short, and kinda ugly little guy, once said that horsepower sells cars but torque wins races.

...i seem to remember his taillights -way off- in the distance as i passed the box at 660...

If you see him anytime soon before you race, and before your engine gets put in, please tell him I'm very willing to take him up on his offer. I've never been to the track before, let alone raced anyone. However, in order to make it worthwhile (for me), dinner has to be at Daniel's Broiler in Bellevue.

Um, at Daniel's, this is what I usually run up with just two people. Granted, I like to drink good stuff... But still, if you haven't been to Daniel's Broiler, you're really missing out on the best steak you'll ever have (in WA State). RC's are good, Daniel's is simply the steak-lover's wet dream. (Yes, I love steak that much... Daniel's Prime Fillet... oh, man!)

Well, I have a ways to go until then and even when we get to that date....I still have to win the race. Unlike him, I will not sit there and talk my car up...I basically just sat there and listened to him, nodded a couple times, and said "wow, your car sounds pretty fast". I let him do all the s**t talkin, that way if I do lose I don't look bad!!

I've got a feeling that this guy's going to duck you when you take him up on his offer. If he is truly that stupid - hard to believe, but I've been surprised with monumental stupidity before - please....PLEASE let us know where and when. I've got to see this!

I agree with the above comments...and will add my own..

I can assure you, a new E ticket Saleen will destroy any ego he has or has gotten for some mis information..and it will need to go faster then 180 mph to catch the E..
