Appearantly... There was a pretty significant advantage to be had to completely atomized fuel + forced induction that was had from expanding the aircharge within the intake.

He put some sort of check valve in the intake so that the air/fuel misture had no where to go until the intake valve opened.

I don't think that developement went anywhere beyond his prototype. The car manufactureres of course, all snubbed their noses at it.
