Well, usually the first attempt my car will start normally. if not it will click once. then ill key it back, and forward again. let it prime again. and it will start..
but after i run it around a while. turn it off. start it again sometimes it will crank very slowly. and its a real bitch to get it to start.

I know the fuel pressure regulator is ****ed up, making it run rich.

But, i also have 234909 electrical accessories. i was wondering if this was the problem.
Electric fan, electric water pump, msd digital 6 plus box, ashtray switchboard, guages.... etc all thrown on the starter relay side with the positive battery cable.

could that be a big cause of the problem? is there a better way? should i put some of these on the back of the alternator?

could it be the starter going out?

ps. its not the battery. i was running a optima yellow top. and i just got in a brand new yellow top today. made it cause the problem. swapped batteries then and there. same low cranking.

First place I would look is a bad ground. A jumper cable used as an auxillary motor ground can be useful for testing.

Good luck.

Mine has done the same thing before. Turned out to be the starter.

I'm not telling you to run out and get another (and if you do, do not buy some cheap chain store POS), i'm just saying that was my problem.

My car cold started fine, it was the hot starts that were the prob.

the starter would actually cause my battery cables to get hot.

Thats the same prob im havng now. Like tonight, i was at pizza hut, i drove my mustang because im trying to wear the new tranny in. Well, i stopped at the bank to get some money from the atm and cut my car off while i did it. I went to start it and it hesitated a minute and then cranked fine. Well i got to pizza hut and came back out and the starter just clicked, didn't turn over, nothing. Well got out, poked around made sure the battery cables were on good. Went back, just clicked again. I turned my electric fan off with my toggle switch and it cranked right up. The battery is brand new and it does this with other batteries to.
I just added a second 4ga ground wire today, i grounded from where the - battery cable attaches to the engine block to the frame. And made sure the factory ground was grounded good. The mis-fire all but went away after that, then it came back tonight. Im so damn frustrated!!!!

I know what your going through!!

That's a good starter, at a good price too.
