Head/Cam talk???

Is it really worth the expense and head ache to get stock heads and/or cams on a 99+ stang ported followed by a good tune to get things running right again compared to stock???

I have a 2001 GT (5 spd) with only 19,000 miles on it, engine is completely stock. 3.73 gears, catback and suspension are the only mods so far. It runs ok but I'm seeking a little more SOTP power.

Any help would be appreciated.

friend you won't regret it... People have seen up to 29 rwhp when they have a good tune and long tube headers and intake to match.. that my friend is worth it. Same as heads being p&p, you getting into more pricey mods no doubt.

this is basically the stage i'm at... i'm about to order compcams "hot cams". Accufab intake with Long Tube headers and take my borla off road h-pipe off and replacing it with a bassani shorty H-pipe. hope this helps some

I would definately say that it is well worth it. If you p&p your heads, a set of cams and put a bullitt or some other type of intake on it you will see a really good gain. also if you put a blower on it then you will I bet close to about 500 at the wheels.
