Well, Im oging to have to buy new HG's. Apparantly my heads are completely flat/level so they are going to the machine shop to be resurfaced/decked. Not major but my drivers side head seems to have a lil minor issue.

Anyways, I was considering felPro 1101 (i believe thats it).

However, I wastold to run Cometics as they are 125/pair. Thats REAL high to me This is a stock block, P-headed, full bolt on 302 on the Nx wet kit.
So what HG should I use. I really dont have tons to spend on this top end rebuild. Plus i need to get good intake/exhaust gaskets this itme aorund too with locking headerbolts.

All opinions are welcome but solid evidence and proof of what works would really help me out here. Im kinda tired of rebuilding this damnthing and I finally ofund my culprits. Thanks.

You should be fine with a set of Fel-Pro 1011-1 head gaskets. A set of ARP head studs or at least ARP bolts would be a good idea as well

i run the cometics. got mine for $115 from raceparts distribution. if you go with a cometic make sure you spray it with a copper gasket sealer just to be on the safe side

Ive heard some tuners say that once you run cometic gaskets that the head gaskets are no longer the first thing to fail if things go bad from a poor tune or detination. That means that something else will fail in its place. Ive seen pics of guys who had their heads chunk out from detination becuase the cometic gaskets dont fail. I run the fel-pro 1011 gaskets with ARP bolts and upto 12 lbs. of boost.

Well, I kinda would rather a HG fial then blow a piston or something....I mean, I want something that will seal GREAT! I want a perfect seal and I want to spray and not worry about my HG's popping left and right. A blown piston would be nice in a scrap pile but I wont be able to recoup anything from my 302 when it does come time to sell it all.

With that engine setup, I'd stay with Felpros, or a similar unit. I have never lost a Felpro, or one of the Victors that I have on now, with the sprayed engine.

There may be a difference in 1101-1 and 1101-2 Felpros, by year of engine. Mine are 68 and 79 blocks so I use the -1.

You should check it out before installing.

Also, the Felpro 9333's work ok one mild motors and are the least expensive, I believe.
