I've been told that if everything is installed and tuned properly, even the hi-po blown cars *should* be fine with the stock replacement fel pro head gaskets. It sounds like something is wrong, which is causing you to blow the gaskets, and I would recommend finding the cause. The expensive cometic head gaskets - although they are most assuredly great gaskets - are a band aid for this application, in my opinion. Eventually, you'll probably end up blowing rings next if your problem isn't addressed.
As you know, you need a weak link. If something goes wrong, your weak link will fail first. It's obviously best to make the easiest/cheapest to replace parts the weak link in the event that something does happen. Head gaskets are cheaper and easier than rings.
Spend some time and try to find out your problem and make the head gaskets your weak link. Just my opinion. Are you sure the block and heads are true? No pre-ignition, etc?
