Well that wasn't what I wanted to hear.... If they are E6SE then there is a good chance the motor in my car is not the original 88 H.O.... That would also mean that the block probably has flat top pistons....

Well I was planning on enjoying it as it is for a while with hopes of putting a 5-6 psi supercharger on it sometime next year. I only drive it on weekends for enjoyment.

What I thought I had was a 88 5.0 HO stock bottom and heads, gt40 upper and lower intake, 70mm throtle body, e303 cam and stock T5.

Looks like I have an earlier to mid 80s 5.0 bottom end and heads, gt40 upper and lower intake, 70mm throtle body, e303 cam and a T5 from a 4 cylinder t-bird...

Just feeling like I got short handed with what I bought, but you live and learn.

I was getting ready to go through the entire suspension, but am starting to have second thoughts now on how much I should invest in the car... The body/paint is in overall grate shape, but it has been in an accident at one point of it's past(radiator support shows signs of being bent back in place and front clip doesn't line up perfectly with the front fenders and the clips paint color is a bit off).

My heart wants to save it and bring it back to life, but I also want to be smart about how much $ I poor into it. I bought it with the plans to fix it up over the years and pass it down to my kids. I really do love the LX body style personally.

Thanks for the encouragement gents. This community has already been a tremendous help and hope that I can do the same for others as I learn more about the fox body. This is the 3rd mustang I have owned/restored on my own, but this is my first fox. Always wanted one

I just needed a good reminder that I bought this as a long term project to enjoy at each step of the way, and not feel like I have to do it all in year one. Right now I have it up on jack stands replacing the rear main seal, throw out bearing and adding a steal bearing retainer to the T5. Previous owner recently took the time to replace the clutch and installed a nice aftermarket clutch cable, but never attended to the other necessary items. The aluminum bearing retainer was worn very bad and the throw out bearing was not sliding freely, resulting in a bad shimmy feeling in the clutch.

Anyway, I have made a lot of solid progress...Just touching areas that I thought we're already done... again...Live and learn. I'll keep fighting the good fight as I have fallen in love with the car, and it really is in good shape for what I gave for it.
