i have just noticed a ticking sound on the drivers side head on my 89 gt. they are the stock heads. when you are in the car it sounds like an exhaust leak, but all the bolts are tight. any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a low-light on? When was the last time you changed the oil? My 95 was doing the same thing in the same place, and I changed the oil and the problem was solved. I also added a thing of Slick 50 for good measure.

I don't see the spark plugs being a problem...

I had all my bolts tight and I still had a header leak...make sure you have the proper gasket and your header flanges are "trued"...(straight)...

I'd almost bet it is a header leak...

Doubtful it being a ticking lifter...if you notice it being like an exhaust leak...

Good Luck

I'm having the same problem only on my passenger side. I think my header bolts might be loose. I'll check them out and let you know if I find anything out.
