I want to upgrade the sound system in my 2016 5.0. I have heard mixed reviews on replacing the head unit (One place said I wouldn't need to, another place said if I want the most out of my speakers to replace it). Unfortunately to replace the head unit I need to change the whole radio including climate control and that piece is about 600 just for the part without a head unit and installation. I have the stock 6 speaker and 4" screen. As for the speakers, any recommendations on which ones to get and a sub if needed? So far I have been quoted $1200 for speakers amps and a sub and $800 for head unit replacement. Would like to go a little cheaper but also want a really good system so its not 100% necessary. Just wondering if anyone else has replaced the head unit and speakers and around what they may have spent. If this has already been discussed I apologize but I couldn't find anything for the S550.
