My header bolts backed out (on my new LT headers). Any recommendations?

I think I have heard others mention using locking bolts (stage 8 or something like that).

Is that the company's web site? How do I get the specs on header bolts?

i just lost the front driver's side bolt on mine. anyone here try the Breslin locking header bolts? they're in the summit catalog. the bolt features and allen (hex) set screw in the center of the head that spreads the threads of the bolt to keep it locked in place...

I would also recommend red loctite as well. With the heat changes that those bolts see, it's very logical for them to want to back out.

Did you tighten the bolts to torque spec? I have yanked my headers twice and they haven't come out yet. I always used my torque wrench for anything that bolts to the motor or drivetrain.

I have the Stage 8's....they work like a champ but they are a bitch to get the locks on...I think I only have about half of mine on, the other ones I just tightened down once or twice and they have been good.

I use studs for my headers, then lock washers and nuts to hold them on. That works pretty good for me.

I stage 8 bolts on mine they are awesome! I had to replace the gaskets that came with the headers and I managed to loose a bolt and a couple of the locking washers. I contacted the company through their website and told them I needed to purchase a few extra pieces and they sent them to me for FREE. I really couldn't believe it! This company has great customer service!
