Hey guys im thinking of picking up a set of ARP header bolts or studs. I know your all going to say stage 8 locking bolts, but im not paying 60 dollars for 16 bolts, thats a little ridiculous. Are studs worth the extra cash? i could see it being easier to put the headers on the car as there are studs sticking out the line it up. Any opinions or alternitives are welcome.

It depends on the headers. my macs barley had room for the arp bolt heads. you might have to grind down a box end wrencs for the bolts also. I couldent even think of having studs work for me.

You will have trouble gettin studs to clear with conventional headers due to tube interference. It is a pain with bolts I cant imagine how studs would be easier. I would stick with the bolts, you and get the Mr.Gasket brand, just as good as ARP's, or if you are gettin new MAC headers they come with bolts already and they are fine as well.

I have the ARP studs and they work great!! I have had them for like 2 years now. I have shorties though not sure how well they would work on long tubes. I ditched the washers they come with and now have lock washers on each one. NO back out problems what so ever.

I used them on my car for awhile and they worked great. I switched to cheap bolts from Checker when I put the new heads on

I have a set for sale on ebay......

mr gasket bolts work fine for me. im using the felpro 1415 gaskets. no need for the locking. just make sure you re tighten them after a few heat cycles. you should probally check them for the first few days after that you will be fine.
