Ceramic coated, its bonded to the header and will last much longer than paint. Ceramic coating also helps keep the heat in the header, which keeps the under hood temp down.

Make sure they're Jet-Hot coated. It's the only "true" ceramic coating on the market!

so that would be a yes to the ceramic coated mac headers over the regular ones, i don't have time to send them off to get jet hot coated.

You get what you pay for with Mac. If I were you, I'd suck it up and spring for a decent set of headers. Anything but Mac. Their mid pipes and cat-backs aren't bad, but I've never seen a well made header sold by them yet!

That last thing you want to be doing is fiddling around with continuous header leaks....especially on a set of LT's!

If you absolutely must get the cheapest header for the money, go with a set of BBK's. They seem to have a better track record. Otherwise, suck it up and spring for a set of Kooks, Bassani, SLP, etc and install them worry free!

1 problem with that automatic here most of those if not all wont fit and i refuse to pay 1k for a set of kooks or slp then have to buy a new mid pipe. plus i all ready have a dr gas x pipe that is made for the mac's. A guy i know converted his car to auto bought a vortec kit and a p-51 and went with the macs and had no problem. so if its good enough for him i figured it would work for me.

Seems like you're set on getting the mac headers. Do what you think is going to work based on your experiences, but take advice from people on here though. I take it that Mac occasionally will have a bad seed or two. Just make sure you go over the headers when you receive them, and if you don't like the quality just return them. Make sure you can return the headers before buying them.
I have had the non ceramic coated headers and had no problems. They will burn away the paint and become white, but that doesn't bother me.

ahh good advise im buying them through the shop that is going to install them so, im pretty sure they will be in stock so i can get a look over before i purchase them.

yea pretty much the reason im getting them is b/c i have the matching mid pipe all ready and it wouldn't make too much sense to go out and get all new stuff.

oh yeah and the reason i wanted to know about coating is some guy semi local 100 miles away has a uncoated (2 year old sitting in his closet not used) set for sale, but he was being weird about meeting me so i said forget it and ill just get a brand new set.
