Ok iv never had any of my mustangs running without a header gasket leak for more then 3 months. I think its due to these ****ty ass MR GASKET gaskets, Im just gonna go pick up some felpros now.

Any tips? Iv heard soaking in water or somthing, can someone explain this? Any tips so my gaskets dont burn out (yes I check my bolts reguarly)

Thanks,
Matt

I've used Mr. Gasket Ultra Seals for years with no problems, but FelPro's work well too -- just more expensive. I don't see a need for fancy copper gaskets or locking header bolts (I'm surprised nobody mentioned!), etc.

I hate locking header bolts. They're too much work. :D

I've used paper gaskets (BBK), copper gaskets, dead-soft aluminum gaskets, and Fel-Pro 1415's. Never again will ANYTHING but a Fel-Pro 1415 be used on my car. The paper gaskets sealed fine until I blew one out because the bolts backed out, but it was a hassle to scrape out all the pieces. The copper and aluminum ones both leaked pretty noticably. The Fel-Pro's have never ever leaked for me, and if I have to take them out they come out in one piece and they don't stick to anything.
