First off, I have a 67 coupe that I am installing a Ford Racing 345hp 302 with GT40 heads, C4 auto, with Hooker Super Comp long tube headers. The car has power steering and Im having trouble with the headers hitting the power steering ram (not sure what the proper name is). It looks like the engine is sitting to far forward when I line up the motor mounts. I have replaced the mounts and the brackets that mount them to the strut towers. I matched the parts against the old parts and they are identical. Has any one had this problem?

Do you have the power steering cylinder drop bracket installed? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=HOK-10961HKR&N=700+115&autoview=sku
If not you will need it as it will drop the cylinder down to clear the headers on the drivers side.

I'd recommend you get that drop bracket welded to the frame as it will likely rip the two bottom bolts out of the frame. Ask me how I know...

Or return the headers to Summit if they're not beat up from installation and get some shorties.
I would have liked to keep my power steering, but I didn't like the idea of a drop bracket(especially for track duty) and I wanted longtubes, so I went to manual steering.

You can ask me how I know too. If you think it will look like crap welded on, imagine what it looks like after several big holes have been ripped out of the frame rail.

Oh and Dan, I'm pretty sure the bracket I have is steel.
