Header install 99+ do it yourself or not?????

I wouldn't even attempt it on my old 98 due to having to loosen the motor mounts and jacking the engine up slightly to fit. Are the 99's easier?
I'm sure as hell not going to pay somebody to do a bolt on.

Im sure 03gtmustang will chime in, but from waht I hear, its not an easy swap. What most people end up doing is dropping the K member. Its just a job that requires a lot of patience. Good luck.

I did the install myself, Im surprised you havent seen the thread. I worked from 2:30 pm-11:30 am the first day and from 9:00am- 3:30pm the second day. The first day ended with both headers bolted up, and second day I obviously finished everything. So all together about 15 1/2 hours, give or take. The install went smoothly with no problems at all. Dropping the k-member is time consuming because of all the bolts and nuts, and I didnt want to drop it on myself. Now I did the install MYSELF with no help from anyone, and Im 17 years old this is my first car. Before having this car I had never even worked on any cars and my parents dont know anything about cars. So after saying that I think anyone can do the install, I just recomend doing it with a friend. Heres my thread for more info, http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=480194

Why would there be a difference in installation between '98s and '99s?
03gtmustang, how do you like the Mac LTs? I hear some people complain about them here and there, are they pretty nice? Can you feel the difference after the install?

Yes theres a difference in performance. I think the only reason people complain is because of the welds. Every once in awhile someone will get a header with bad welds, just check them before you install them.

You have to take the rotors, calipers, springs all out before you can do the install??? Arg!!!! I was just hoping to lift the car and have at it. Say it isn't so.

Haha, you pretty much have to drop the whole front suspension. K-member and everything.

I dont see why the install would be different. Basically evereything in the front is the same.
