hey guys, I was wondering which headers would be best for the price and sound considered. and easiness of fit definatly is a factor- because I will be installing them myself.. i might be able to use a lift at my work, but I might have to resort to ramps and an impact wrench. anywho, will most headers fit with my bassani x? I was thinking ford racing shorty headers, mostly due to the price.. but I am not sure.. thanks guys

long tubes are by far the best way to go in my opinion lol.. yes they are more expensive but if you're doing the install yourself why not get the best and whats gonna give you the most gains?

if your going to do headers, specially doing it urself, don't bother with shortie. For amount of time it takes to install one, Shortie just is not cost effective mod.
celamic coated MAC or BBK LT is the only way to go(SLP if you have more money).
I have Celamic BBK LT. Only because i bought it dirt cheap(<$350), but if i was paying full price, i would have gone with MAC LT celamic coated, because i'm big biliever of ProChamber.

But if u wanna save some money by retaining your X-pipe, Only shortie thats worth installing(IF u can call it that) would be JBA shorties(Not really any cheaper as eventho u can retain your X-pipe, JBA shortie is very expensive)

well i would go with the long tubes, however I know that ground clearance is an issue, and I have enough problems already with my bassani cats getting demolished day by day. and I guess Im not really too worried about the performance gains.. but what is the install like on the 4.6?

Everytime i hear this, I wonder what people are talking about.

My LT does not hang any lower then my old PC did.
Infact, since i got the car lowered, and LT installed, only thing i'v ever scraped were exhaust tip, and cat. LT don't hang any lower then my cats located in same damn spot as any other catted mid pipe for shortie headers.

I know there are many many people here tells you that LT hangs lower then others, and they scrape. I think thats because they drive like an idiot over rough pavement or attempts to go over speed bumps.

Or may be its depending on manufacture.

I say go with bassani mid length's since u already have their xpipe. The dif in performance btwn the long tubes are very minimal and you dont have to worry about clearence. I picked up .2+ and over 2mph in the 1/4 with mine.

yeah i really like bassani, but they are a little more than i was planning on spending, but im sure they would be worth the wait. I may still go with the MAC longtubes, as long as i can keep my catted X.

If you go with LT, Your mid-pipe WILL NOT WORK .

See the pic of normal catted Bassani X pipe. Similer to what you have

And here is bassani for LT header

Now befor you ask, yes u can try to have muffler shop to cut your pipe and make it work with your LT(If thats wat your going with), but your now risking of leak and by the time you spend money and time to make it fit, your spending more money then what you can buy new shortie mid pipe(i think my BBK shortie H was $139 shipped)
