I just bought a set of used long tube headers and I am thinking about painting them. We have some black paint where I work that is for painting fireplace stuff and is apparently good up to 1200 degrees. I'm wondering if this is good enough for a set of headers or should I get something better? If so, what should I get?

Thanks _

have them coated.....only way to keep them nice.
Otherwise, Eastwood has header paint that works pretty well. I lasted the longest out of all the paints I've tried.

That's not true. If you aren't using a half-assed high heat paint, it WILL stay on until the metal is red hot, at that point nothing will stick to it.

DupliColor HIGH HEAT paint is available at NAPA and other autoparts stores
