Would these bbks be decent and are headers easy to put on?

I really like my MAC headers. 1 5/8" shorty's. I don't even know what that "dreaded individual flange" mess is. I did mine at the same time as my heads, so they were a breeze to put in. Even now, taking off the headers is not that hard at all, but I have no smog or EGR.

mac are my first choice......

i don't do shortys...i always use long tubes

the hardest part of the header install is usually removing the old crap.

once the old ones are off, loosen up the rest of the exhaust to give you some play to line up the flanges good.

no big deal really

I have MAC equals on my 93 and the quality is terrible. You can put a straight edge on the flanges and there is up to +3/8 difference. We put BBK on my 2002 and the quality is much better, MAC are cheaper for a reason. My .02

oh how nice they are just remember this-- get a good set of header gaskets to use, throw the gaskets that come with the headers away or youll be changing them in a week or 2

My MAC's came with copper gaskets. I thought copper gaskets were supposed to be better than most.

when i started a thread about swapping my header gaskets alot of people were telling me that the single flanges get warped and they might not fit right if you take them off and try and put them back on. swapped in new gaskets and no more tick tick noise .

FRPP 1 5/8" Ceramic. $299. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer shorty.

I've had 2 sets of mac headers. NO issues. 1 set on the stockish 302. 1 set on the current 408w.

I would get the LTs over any of the other headers if you plan on doing more to the engine. Not hard to install.

If you are looking for cheap, remember cheaper is not always better. If you are on a tight budget, I understand. I have MAC equal lengths, and I would not recommend them to anyone. Now the uneaqual length's are a different story. Still and all, the HTS coating is complete garbage. It boils down to what you are trying to do with the car. If it's a quick speed fix, then go cheap. If you are staying 302 based in the future, get the long tubes now.

I have the bbk 1 5/8" ceramic coated shortys. Theyre pretty good i have no problems with them the only thing is they dont keep the color they have to them too long from the heat.

I have BBK shorties on my car. They held the color for about 2 weeks then the chrome turned blue. They are a 1 piece flange. I like them they seem pretty good. The drivers side was just a pain to get in...
