If you are looking for cheap, remember cheaper is not always better. If you are on a tight budget, I understand. I have MAC equal lengths, and I would not recommend them to anyone. Now the uneaqual length's are a different story. Still and all, the HTS coating is complete garbage. It boils down to what you are trying to do with the car. If it's a quick speed fix, then go cheap. If you are staying 302 based in the future, get the long tubes now.

Curious.
Did you have an issue with unequal length macs?

I had equals on the 302 and unequal on the 408w. No issues either way.

I cannot speak for the HTS coatings, I always just used header wrap.

I will agree that longtubes will provide better performance results, provided mods can take advantage of them.

thanks for the help on the wideband O2 sensors.

I have a friend that used the unequal lengths. They were a piece of cake to install. I would recommend them to anyone. Ceramic coating is nice to have though.

I just took off a set of BBK unequal length shorties that are ceramic coated and the headers developed a stress crack and leaks right where the welds end on the tubes, they were less than three years old! I replaced them with a set of JBAs with Titanium Ceramic coating these are sweet and much higher quality than the BBKs.

I use dead soft aluminum header gaskets no leaks and reuseable.

I really like my MAC headers. 1 5/8" shorty's. I don't even know what that "dreaded individual flange" mess is. I did mine at the same time as my heads, so they were a breeze to put in. Even now, taking off the headers is not that hard at all, but I have no smog or EGR.

X2

I've had mine on for over 4 years had them on and off a few times for stuff and no issues at all.

I have had good luck with all mac products I have had contact with (numerous) on my cars and friends.

Shorty headers are fine. Listen to Kevin (89sleeper) on the header selection. He knows...trust me

From what ive heard all chrome headers will turn blue. The chrome itself just cant take the heat...w/e you do just go with ceramic or jet hot, they will also keep the heat out of the engine bay a little better.
