headers in ca?

are there any ca legal headers that offer any performance gains? i have always heard long tubes are the way to go and shorties are for the most part no improvement over stock. i want to build my own full exhaust (header back) and make it all offroad,(swap catted mid for smog) the midpipe isint a big deal to swap for smog but i dont want to be swapin headers for smog. so are there any out there that fit the bill or are the stockers the way to go if your in ca? thanks guys

i would say go O/R for everything...but then again i know a guy...who passes things. but im sure there is a set up for an aftermarket catted midpipe, but with how strict regulations are in CA, i honestly wouldnt know if your car would pass or not.

the JBA Cat4ward ones are CARB legal and supposedly have the most gains for shorties. all mid and long tubes are illegal.
