I have BBK equal length shorties, and the get alil close to my spark plug wires and melt the boots. Anyone have any ideas of wires and/or wire covers that actually work. I have one tube wrapped with kevlar heat wrap, but have another wire that melts also and can not wrap that tube. I just dont wanna spend $50-100 on wires that are just gonna melt. Worth wild suggestions please.

Thats what i did and haven't had an issue since. If you dont hve an extra set just go to a shop and ask them if they can give you a used set and remove the boots from them and change them out.

I fight this on a lot of turbo cars...

DEI plug boot covers works very well

Taylor wires have a true silicone cover and boot, they will out last and peform a MSD, they have molded 45 degree boots that are a little smaller as well.

I have Trickflow 10.4mm wires w 45deg boots. I replaced #3 wire with a 90deg boot and worked great. But #4 is still melting also. I will try 90deg boots and DEI boot covers. Thanks guys just what I was looking for.

I have Taylors on my engine as well with 90 degree boots and I like them a lot better than the Ford racing wires I was using.

I had a similar problem and although I am a fan of Magnacore wires I went with the MSD with adjustable angle boots and haven't had a problem since.

If you don't want to wait for the DEI Boots to come in from Summit, you can pick them up at your local AZ for about the same price. P/N 010501 for the silver 6" (2 pk).
