Headlights

Wat up guys,
i have a 2.3l 1987
Im having problems with my head lights. ill explain wats going on.
ill be driving for about 20mins at night and my lights will turn off and i have to hold the high lights on till i get to my destination. anybody got a damn clue whats happening? anything helps

IIRC you have a headlight relay, see if that is overheating.

where would this relay be located?

Trace wiring back from the headlights.

Sorry but my manuals are buried and I cant climb across all the stuff to get to them without killing myself.

It is probably under the dash but not sure, pull under dash panel and see if its listed on the wiring diagram decal on back of under dash panel.
