Quick question - On a 67 Fastback does the front windshield and rear glass have to be removed to replace the headliner?

I'm almost positive it does. You might be able to do it w/o removing them, but you'll have better results if you do (probably less work in the long run too).

I know in a coup it does not. There is a procedure in the shop manual to do it. But I agree that you will get a better result if you pull the glass. It is also a good opportunity to replace the gaskets if there are warn before a leak gets you.

I haven't done this, but have read two articles detailing this. Or did I stay at a Holiday Inn???

Its the same for coupes, you can do it with the glass in place, but the best results require taking the glass out.

I did my boss302 with both glass in place, not sure if it's the same on the 67.

As I recall there were "grabbers" almost like carpet tack strip near both windows. It's a tricky job.

After doing it once myself, I'll tell you this, if the upholstry shop will do it for a reasonable fee, have them do it. It's one of those things that takes experienced feel to get just right.

I agree on having the shop do it. Cost me $100 and I supplied the new headliner and rear window gasket fo rmy 69 coupe.
