Engine Heads and how to buy

"you will pick the pistons that you [want] for that build."

Exactly that would be green field except for the block. the "garage's engine" as my wife will undboutly call it will, will have a curated parts list.
if ultimatley I decide to go full 427, the block would be aftermarket also.

Well, yeah. You're into it up your chin at that point.

When I built my DART Stroker, [years] ago I over shot. Before I knew, I was $10k deep and that didn't include upgrades for the Kenne Bell. :suicide:

Mine is a 347 (It's uh, kinda in the name) :D

Overbuilt but very reliable. It's the [rest] of the car I need to dig into. LoL

The best performing OEM cam for Fox/SN95:

1985–1992 5.0 HO Roller Camshaft

Ditto on that! I love how the stock HO cam behaves in my combo. I can slither lazily through the hood at 20 mph in 3rd gear all day with not a smidge of chugging, bogging or stalling. The same stock HO cam in 3rd gear will happily take me to 75 mph if I want. Im running Ford Racing 1.72 full roller rockers with it.

If you have heads and intake, how much would staying with the stock cam hold you back power-wise?
I’m not sure but I believe the answer could be different depending if you are NA as compared to boosted. My guess is a boosted application there would be less of a loss since the air is being forced in under pressure.
