My friend and I have similar plans.

Hes got AFR165s, aftermarket intake/exhaust, gears etc...

He is running 24 lbs injectors at 56 psi which IMO means the injectors are close to being maxed out. Would it be dangerous to run a dry nitrous kit with the injectors working so hard just get the A/F decent NA? I think he should run a wet kit to save the engine from possible damage. What do you think.

I am assuming that he runs a dry kit and supplements the fuel pressure for when he is on the spray. It must run very rich around town, and that doesnt seem the right way to approach the setup. Cant remember what 24lb injectors are good for as fas as N/A hp but should be good for the N/A. I should have my car setup by Thurs and at the track. I will be running 24lb. injectors Trickflow heads and a 125 wet. We will see how that set up works very soon and maybe can shed some more light on your plans. Ive run the wet with 125 on my stock heads and 19 lb injectors with fuel pressure at 40 with good results. I personally like the wet because the addition fuel is supplied via fuel rail instead of thru injectors and pressure. One draw back is the fuel injected intake was never desgined to hold fuel and could puddle causing a backfire thru the intake.
