Hey guys/gals. Need a quote because I am living on a budget like everyone else. I wanted to put heads on my car either GT-40 or GT-40P's. Now I think I like the GT40's better than the P's because from what I have read they are easier to pass smog. Aight I have all the bolt ons like GT40 upper lower intake, mac equal length headers, 65MM TB, cold air intake, 80MM maf 19lb, pulleys, x-pipe and borla cat back. Aight I want to do a basic head job. I want to use stock equip but if it is cheap to do like a cam or roller rockers etc, then let me know of the cost of the small head components. Now what I want to know is how much would I expect to to pay for a basic head installation? Anything else I should know about like other parts I would need to bolt on to my 95 5.0? If I buy the heads from ebay or something, what other parts should I need to come with the heads for direct bolt on installation. Would I need a tune now with heads? My motor mind you has about 170K on it. I want to do heads, but don't want to get into a thousand bucks for this when my engine will go at 200K. Will eventually but a build 351W in, but I want these heads. My engine still runs strong and only leaks at the pan and rear seal, how many miles do the 95 5.0's have in them anyway? Aight have at it! Anyone?

Where's everybody at?

So I assume that no one has ever paid to have heads put on?

Repost this thread over in tech

I'd be willing to bet you get more replies

I don't think you will need a tune unless that 19lb caled meter causes
you some grief.

Hey man, i havent put heads on my car but i do have the gt40s obviously on my cobra, If you buy from ebay your probably buying used and i would hope they just send you everything you need and its a complete head with rockers and all. would be perfect time to change the cam as well since to do the heads your taking everything out of the way, would save some labor if you changed your mind later, but i hear your gt cam is already better then what comes stock with those heads heh.

but my best friend has a shop in Anaheim which isn't too far from you i dont think. I would definately call him up because they run a shop that is paid for and so their prices are much cheaper then any performance shop, and its just him and his dad whose been working on cars for 30years. My friend has all his ASE certifications and holds the title master mechanic as well. They've done all the work for me on my car. he also has a cobra as well but its a supercharged modular heh. Sorry not trying to really trying to advertise on the forums, just trying to help you out, if you want good work done with added benefit of a good price then could atleast call them up

also this was a vid i recorded from a customer who came in with a whipple ( http://media.putfile.com/whipple-install- )
