heads up for brake and rotor change

All you need to do is take the wheel off and then take off the brake calipers. The only thing holding the rotors on is a little clip on the studs. Just pry the clip off with a screwdriver or pliars, they do not have to be reinstalled. I don't know which rotors would be best for you, but all you have to do to prep them is spray them down with brakeclean. This gets off all the oil put in from packaging to prevent rust. Just spray em and wipe them off and they are ready to install. You also might want to put all new pads on while you have everything off.

what's up guys... new to stang site... couldn't help but to respond as i just changed the rotors on my 02 gt vert...

it's not quite so easy...getting the calipers off is the big issue.. 4 bolts need to be removed..you'll need a wrench to hold the 'nut', and a socket wrench to remove the bolts..

Ya sorry i forgot about that. There are slots for a wrench on the caliper, and you need to hold them with a wrench or else they will just keep spinning.

The OE Cobra/ Bullitt rotor is made by Brembo (13"). But with that size rotor, I believe you need to change the calipers. I would be wary of some of the fast and loose rotor venders you never heard of.

there are only two bolts tha need to be taken off on the caliper. the larger inside two bolts that actually hold the calipur bracket on. they are tight but they come off. just use a bigger ratchet.

basically two bolts at the caliper and the retaining clips are all that need to come off. anyone who tell you diffenet is taking the calipure b\racket off of the calipure. now you can do this if you want but you are wasting time. should take about 30min tops to do the whole job start to finish with new rotors.

as far as what rotors are the best? I have no clue. Just doing a brake job I would just resurface my original ones I think. all of the cross drilling and slotting is mainly a looks thing. on cheap rotors they will proably crack. now if you want to upgrade the just for looks that is fine but I don't know who make the best. there is a big diffenece in price. I have seen sets on ebay for $120. I have seen single rotors for $99. I don't know which are the best.
