So last night, I wired in a Pioneer DEH 3900 into my dash, along with a Connex2Car adaptor for my ipod; which plugs into the back of the Pioneer unit and I then wired the Ipod adaptor cord into my glovebox. Theoretically, I was thinking that I would be able to control my Ipod with the H/U while keeping the ipod tucked away in the glove box. It apparently only worked about halfway, as the Ipod plays music and sounds great through the speakers, but I have no control over the Ipod itself with the H/U. I have to use the ipod to change songs, artists, etc.; which is slightly annoying when the Ipod is in the glovebox and I'm trying to drive, shift, and change the song.
I know that the Pioneer is Ipod-control capable, but, sadly, I lost the manual so I can't look up instructions myself.
Oh, and yes, I have the Ipod hooked up through the actual Ipod charging port, not the 3.5mm jack
Heres what I have:
Pioneer DEH 3900 H/U
Connex2Car adaptor
80 gig Ipod Classic Video (6th gen I belive?) It looks like this:
So, hopefully, somebody can help me out here... I realize this isn't Mustang-specific, but whatever. If it makes any difference at all my car is an 04 v6, (had) the base Mach single-cd MP3. Thanks for any and all help.
