Just as the title states, this guy had BBK shorty headers, O/R X and JBA. From listening online and reading comments O/R X and chambered mufflers such as JBA and flowmasters sound extremely raspy. His set-up sounded awesome. There was a touch of raspiness, but it gave an old school sound.

The best sound I heard for a S197 was magnaflow catted X and Borla Stingers

He also has headers (shorty) that also influences the tone of the car too.

I thought shorties didn't make too much of a difference. I guess they do.

they only add minimal power yes but the tone is definitely influenced because of the difference in construction shape and materials.

From my experiences on my cobra and my old GT ditching the manifolds got rid of most of the raspyness and drone of most exhaust setups..

+1 on my 240SX with a 3in exhaust there was no rattling, tinny, raspy sound at all even at high rpms and that was all because of the header I installed.

I was surprised because online, JBAs and other chambered mufflers sound extremely raspy with an O/R X pipe. This car did not.

I'm partial to Hooker LT's, Hooker Off-road X, and Bassani Race Axle Backs:

That's my dyno video, I'm still in the process of getting an exhaust only video.
