I have a 72 Coupe that needs torque box and floor repair. It has leaked through the cowl on the ps. The car originally came with AC. I have been staring at the heater /ac motor assbly box for about 45 minutes with the assembly pics from Ford's original blueprints. My wife thinks I'm looking at a two headed frog waiting to talk to me.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the box. I have already taken off (what I think) are all the retaining clips from the two sides and the front.

How does this sucker come out? Does anyone have any experience in this? Thanks.

Dr. Rustecomy.

You do not have to take off the retainging clips. Unless you are trying to leave the back half of the box mounted in the car. Take the whole box out of the car. Once you get it out, you will need to pry the box apart. THey put goop in the joint where the box splits in half. You will probably have to loosen up the metal dash to get the box to drop out of there. I will be putting one back together this week. Not looking forward to it.

if you're trying to remove the whole heat box - did you take off the heater hoses that go from the intake/water pump to the back side of the heaterbox, where they plug into the heater core?

Ok, who's putting the save-my-soul Mormon crap on here? If my soul were worth saving I'd have done it by now.
