I have a 2006 GT convertible. My AC is currently not working - my mechanic thinks there's a leak somewhere. However, I feel like I'm getting heat coming at my legs. Is this normal?

These two disassociated statements are not [nearly] enough information to answer any question about a problem that you [might] have with cabin heating and cooling.

You can run cabin cooling with or without heat.

You can run cabin heating with or without cooling.

So, the answer to your question is that it is neither normal nor abnormal since neither of them reflects upon the other.

You state you have two issues, a no cold issue in ac mode, perhaps due to a refrigerant leak, and a issue with air blowing out in places you dont expect.

The air flow is set by the controls via air door actuator motors. They need to be checked out separately. Should be able to isolate the problem by switching the control and seeing what you get. May just be a failed actuator.
