Heat shield removal

I need to remove the heat shield by the O2 sensors. I haven't looked under the car yet but does anyone know if the heat shield is bolted or welded on? I have a 2000 Mustang GT.

I have a 2000GT also and when I put my xpipe on I remember the heat shield being welded.

Does anyone know of a good way to remove the heat shield? I jacked my car up a little and I tried to look for it and I have no idea what I'm looking for....anyone with a pic would help too. Thanks.

The only heat shield there that I can remember is just around the cat. There shouldn't be anything around the 02's. Why do you want to remove the heat shield?

because I had a MAC ProChamber put on and my car has a terrible buzzing/rattling sound under 2000 rpm's. I was told it was the heat shield, so if I get rid of it I the rattle will go away. It buzzes and rattles all the time, very annoying. What else might it be?

Is the heat shield by the first or second set of cats?

Its the heat shield making that damn rattling noise. My Nissan Sentra was making that sound, and it ended up being the heat shield. It is not a MUST to have a heat shield either. So Rip it off!
