heater bypass question

He likely has a leaking heater core and doesn't want to spend 15 hours doing it.....Which I understand.

You can do 1 of 3 things.

1. Those 2 metal black lines have a fitting at the front of the intake. Loosen that fitting, take it to the hardware store, and get a plug and plug the intake. Done.

2. Leave the black lines on the intake, take the hoses off of the heater core and get a hose that is prebent to a 180* (checker/AZ/etc should have one). Then just connect the two black lines together and done.

3. Measure the size of the black tubes, and get a piece of pipe about 4" long, remove the lines from the heater core and connect the hoses that come off of the lines w/ the pipe.

Either way, your choice and all work fine. I would prefer the plug in the lower intake b/c it cleans up the engine bay.

yeah heater stopped working and since i only drive my car in the summer i wanted to clean up the engine bay a bit. im gonna try and find a reducer so i can still screw in that temp sensor in the end of the black hardlines. if i cant find one maybe i can use that as a plug on the line from the water pump :p

yeah the ECT screws directly into the front of those lines, i need to take a trip to home depot/lowes to see if i can find some sort of reducer since the sensor is smaller then the hole

The hole you're talking about is one in the lower intake, right? I guess that's what I'll do, but I'm still wondering if that will be a hotter location than where it is now?

bought a 1/2" to 3/8" fip hex bushing

screws into the intake and is threaded for the sensor, should workout fine
