would it be alright to just plug the line that goes from the water pump to those black hardlines on the lower intake?

He likely has a leaking heater core and doesn't want to spend 15 hours doing it.....Which I understand.

You can do 1 of 3 things.

1. Those 2 metal black lines have a fitting at the front of the intake. Loosen that fitting, take it to the hardware store, and get a plug and plug the intake. Done.

2. Leave the black lines on the intake, take the hoses off of the heater core and get a hose that is prebent to a 180* (checker/AZ/etc should have one). Then just connect the two black lines together and done.

3. Measure the size of the black tubes, and get a piece of pipe about 4" long, remove the lines from the heater core and connect the hoses that come off of the lines w/ the pipe.

Either way, your choice and all work fine. I would prefer the plug in the lower intake b/c it cleans up the engine bay.

yeah heater stopped working and since i only drive my car in the summer i wanted to clean up the engine bay a bit. im gonna try and find a reducer so i can still screw in that temp sensor in the end of the black hardlines. if i cant find one maybe i can use that as a plug on the line from the water pump

Isn't the ECT in one of those two lines. I'm guessing you can just plug it into the lower intake, but won't it get a hotter reading since now it would be in direct contact with the engine?

yeah the ECT screws directly into the front of those lines, i need to take a trip to home depot/lowes to see if i can find some sort of reducer since the sensor is smaller then the hole

The hole you're talking about is one in the lower intake, right? I guess that's what I'll do, but I'm still wondering if that will be a hotter location than where it is now?

Completely forgot about the ECT sensor. Thanks for reminding me.

So the intake threads are 1/2" pipe threads and the ECT is 3/8"???
