If I'm not worried about getting heat into my car, can I bypass the heater core ? Doesn't seem it would affect the rest of the cooling system. HAs anyone done this with any problems? Thanks!

I had my heatercore by-passed for a good 6 months before replacing the heater core. Its better to have no heat than have antifreeze dripping onto ur floorboards.

It's easy to do. Just find a section of hose with a sharp u-turn in it (one end is larger than the other), and put it on both ends of the two black tubes towards the firewall on the passenger side of the intake manifold. I've done it on three of my last five Foxes and it works great. Then you can take the hoses off the firewall and even cut the pipes going into the heater core flush with the firewall (If you don't plan on using the heater dore ever again).
