Heater delete sensor

So, I want to just delete the heater and tube/pipe system connected into the lower manifold. I already have a leaking heater core, so I know the PIA process to remove and replace. Anyways, after just replacing the upper and lower for a cobra, I deleted the tubes for the egr spacer/coolant. I want to know the fitting necessary for adapting the sensor on the heater pipe to the lower intake, Looks like a 1/2 pipe M - 3/8 F pipe adapter to couple the intake to the stock size sensor? Will the sensor wire/clip be long enough, Or am I going to have to extend the clip via solder/heat shrink?

Correct .......Male 1/2" to Female 3/8" NPT reducer if what you need.
The same wire will reach..... no need to extend it.
 
Nice I guessed the sizes right (diesel classes pay off) Lol! The adapter sounds pretty easy, the back port on the intake would take an extension of the plug or unraveling of the harness to get back there... How about the waterpump heater pipe? Cap it?
 
do you still have the heater core metal tubes? if so, what I did with mine is just cut the tube & turn it around toward the front & connected the water pump tube to it. I didnt want to chance capping off lines. Just an idea that worked for me.
 
Yea, but I kinda want to run the sensor there. I could always run the sensor to the back, but the coolant flow from the back of the heads is not the same as the front, so readings would be different. I would rather buy a 1/2 male pipe fitting with a male barb end for the front wp hose.. and run the sensor to the back. Any thoughts about sensor location? Good idea though with cutting the heater pipe, that would work.
