I recently replaced my stock clutch cable and quadrant with a UPR tripled quadrant, cable adjuster, and new HD clutch cable. Two questions: -

1- the stock cable has a rounded ball on the end that rides in the clutch fork indent and allows it to "ride" through the angle. The aftermarket has two nuts so do you clamp the fork between the two or snug up one nut and use the 2nd nut to lock down that nut from backing out?

2- the clutch now pushed REAL hard when the car is cold and gets a little better after it is warmed up. No other change to the car (oil, lube etc) that would cause this other than the new cable. Anyone else seen this?

Thanks for input. I though replacing the stock plastic quadrant was suppose to make my clutch pedal smoother not heavier!

I agree...almost all aftermarket clutch cables are junk...The best cable is the OEM stock replacement from the dealer...Try putting the old cable back in or get an OEM one and try it with the firewall adjuster and quadrant...My UPR quad and adjuster have worked wonderful for me...Haven't had to touch it since I got it set up like I wanted it...
