Im about to buy a 2006 or 07 mustang coupe. I am praying this car will live up to my last car which was a 1996 honda prelude. That car,not once broke down on me. Its too bad I got into an accident and it was totalled. One of the greatest cars ever. Anyways, ive been talking to different people about the mustang and some people are of course telling me not to buy an american car. But I have faith in the mustang so im hoping I wont regret buying it. Well im hoping to talk to you all soon. Thanks!

Welcome to the board. The Mustang will be world's beyond the Prelude. Honda builds some great, reliable cars... but, the Mustang will put a smile on your face!

Here's some other good places to learn about the Mustang...

Heya Tiff,

I went from a '94 Honda Civic and an '01 Honda Accord to my '06 Mustang. Coming from having owned Hondas for 10 years I expect a very high level of craftsmanship in my cars. So far after owning the Mustang for 6 months I must say I'm impressed. Long term reliability is a big question mark given the fact that the S197 ('05/06 Mustang) is completely new. But I think most of the major problems were addressed in 05.

I also agree with Hamidlmt, it does put a smile on my face

Best of luck

Thanks guys for the response, im hoping to buy this car within a month. ive been

shopping around the whole bay area looking for the best price and the lowest ive found is 18,500 for the basic 2006 model. I think thats about how cheap its going to get. anyways when i went to a dealership i saw the rousches! beautiful!!!!! I wish i could afford one.

Anti-Lock Brakes are a MUST!!!!!!

Dear Tiff,
Only buy a vehicle with ANTI-LOCK Brakes.
I have recently found out what it is like to not have them and trust me they may save your life.

Sincerely,
Brian

Welcome tiffanyj415,
I bought a 06 Southern California Special (V6, auto) in January. So far I have 7500 miles on it with no problems!

The only word of caution I'd offer is DO NOT pay out extra for the Shaker 500/1000. The head unit has had issues from day 1, and they still have not fixed them.

Other than the problems with the head unit, you'll love the car. Like others have said, it's a fun car to drive - I fly up from SoCal to SF every week and get seperation anxiety by the time I get home. Maybe I should drive the pony up a time or two!

Before you do anything...

Before anything else happens...
You must post pics of yourself to see what color car fits you best

Saleen-wana-be There must be something wrong with our average StangNet consumer. It was actually probably some major virus in all the stangnet computers out there that wouldn't allow the post i put up. Guess i was just lucky enough to say what everyone else was thinking

You guys are silly...Ive already decided on the color i want. i think the light

silver will work for me. i want a color that i can look at every day that wont hurt my eyes. anyways ill wait till i post up pics of the car w/me in it. so till then you can wonder. On another subject, anyone know about camaros? i really like them but apparently they dont make them anymore. does anyone know if theyre planning to bring them back or whats going on w/those things?
