Hello, and the elusive turndown ?
Hey guys, I'm new here and I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I drive a 1966 Coupe 289 4bbl as my casual driver. I'm not new to Mustangs because I spent almost two years getting mine roadworthy and she's still kicking just fine with 191,000miles or I would have rebuilt the motor a while ago. I just have a quick question. Dual exhaust was put on it back in the 70's but the mufflers are not labeled or coded so I have no idea what they are but they are not rusted at all. The car is fairly loud but not anywhere near what I would like it to be. When I rev it I can hear my performance fan on the motor almost as loud as the exhaust. Do you think it would make a bigger difference in sound if I just unbolted the exhaust from the back of the mufflers and put turndowns on them? I figure it may help a little and keep me from running a straight pipe with a turndown tip (which I have now ruled out). What do you think? Later <><
