My freind and I installed a MRT catted h pipe today on my 03 Mach 1, and we somehow 4got to disconnect the negative battery cable (yes I know this was a rookie move). Anyhow, when we were working on the passenger side flange the starter sparked. To make a long story short now the starter wont crank any more. I have a feeling that it is some sort of fusible link on the positive battery cable because you can touch a screwdriver on the positive terminal and the inside of the solenoid wire and it cranks over and starts. But when you try to crank it from inside the car it wont even turn over. All the fuses in the fuse box are still good also. If any1 could shed some light on this situation it would be greatly appreciated, because I would rather not pay the dealer a couple of hundred bucks to fix this problem that I am sure is very minor. Thanx

Hmm perhaps break out your voltmeter and start testing power and ground to components. Don't really know what you did, beacause i've never disconnected the battery for exhaust work. I wouldn't really call that a rookie mistake. I dont even know how you shorted the starter(/solenoid) out

My dad & I put a voltemeter on all the wires and they all checked out except the solenoid wire coming from the ignition switch. Does anybody know where the fuse is located, because it wasn't in the in car fuse box. And about disconnecting the battery cable to do exhaust work, when i previously installed a Bassani x, it was in the instructions to disconnect the negative battery cable beforehand.

By the way, this is totally off the subject, but how do I get a big photo with my signature like how yours looks?

Still cant figure out the problem, so I guess Im gonna have to take it to the dealer, because I am tired of starting my car with a screwdriver. This doesnt make any sense because all of the fuses & relays are good and it starts just fine when you touch a screwdriver on the positive battery post and solenoid wire. I hate goin to the dealer because they are so damn expensive, but I dont trust anyone else with my car. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
