So electrical issue fried my pcm,and my pats module. So I'm looking to replace my pcm by purchasing a unlocked version. My question is, if New unlocked Pcm is installed Pats off. Do I still need to replace Pats module and have it plugged in or is there a way around that?

Also for the 1996 model year there's an end user procedure that can reprogram PATS keys. The procedure must be performed EXACTLY and takes 45 minutes to complete. I have posted it many times including at the end of the above URL

And no you don't need to replace anything once PATS has been re-programmed everything will be "in sync".
